Il Sunderland U21 è la squadra di sviluppo Under 21 del Sunderland e una delle sedici accademie invitate all'EFL Trophy, torneo che disputa in trasferta. L'accademia ha prodotto Jordan Henderson e Jordan Pickford, due giocatori cresciuti nel nord est poi arrivati in nazionale inglese.
