Il Rushden & Diamonds nacque il 21 aprile 1992 dalla fusione fra Rushden Town e Irthlingborough Diamonds, nel Northamptonshire. Vinse la Conference nel 2001 e giocò nella Football League fino al 2006, al Nene Park di Irthlingborough, stadio da 6.441 spettatori.
