Championship

The Championship is the second tier of Northern Irish football, ranked directly below the NIFL Premiership. From 2026-27 it is made up of sixteen clubs, competing over the season for promotion to the top flight, while the bottom of the table drops towards the National Conference League, the structure that replaced the Premier Intermediate League at the lower levels of the pyramid.
